broken laptop

hi all help needed. kids have smashed my laptop screen and damaged the casing so i had to buy another one. Is there any way i can link them both to extract files and folders that i need. Lots of pics of the kids etc. I thought i would ask around before taking it in to my local pc shop. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

Can you see anything on the laptop / does it work? If it doesn't, your best bet is to take the hard disk out and put it in an external enclosure, which you can buy for cheap.

 

thanks for the advice. it still powers up, still get the audio but cannot see a thing.

 

If the laptop isn't under warranty, go inside and take the hard disk out and put it in an external enclosure to access your files. If it is under warranty, have it repaired.
