Hi all, I am new here, but I hear this is a really nice site! Just wondering everyone's ideas on what I have come up with so far for my new computer. This will be my first time building my own computer, but I think I can handle it with a little help :)

Here is a screenshot of my shopping cart at newegg so far:

This will be a multi-tasking PC, mainly for some web-design, graphics rendoring, and gaming, but nothing hardcore. Just want a nice desktop that will be decent for years to come. The most graphics demanding games I play right now are FFXI and CNC3.

The HD4870 will do you fine for that purpose, it's only about 25% slower, and less than half the price.

Thanks for the input! Are there any key items missing that would be required to make the system work, or are all areas covered?

Yes, but I can't see all of the page!

All items are shown in the screenshot. Where the page cuts off, there is nothing else listed.

    I just added a:

LITE-ON 22X DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model iHAS222-06 - OEM

Should the 750W power supply be enough for everything? Looking at the case I have chosen, should the cooling be enough? Any other thoughts?

If you've got a mouse and keyboard, that should be all you need. The PSU is still ample, if not overkill, for that system. You could run that lot off a 650W with ease.
I'll restate my concern over the graphics card though, you can either get an HD4870 for $170, a better 1GB HD4870 for not much over $200, or if you want the best for $400, get one of these:

This will way surpass the GTX285 in pretty much any game, by a significant margin.
