So right now i been running off of a Dell Inspiron 9300 series to do all my processing and gaming. I am now in the market for a new desk top computer. Im only looking to spend anywhere from $400 to upwards of $600. But that would be pussing it. What im generaling looking for is: MoBo: that is PCI-e if it is SLI able that would be hot CPS: prefer quad core but Dual is more than enough i suppose. Memory: 2gig minimum HardDrive: 500gig minimum Video Card: 512 ddr2 if at all possible Need you help on this all. Any and all advice would be awesome.
If you're spending $600, you're not likely to be using a system that will need SLI, best save your money and get a PC with a single graphics card, they're far more reliable anyway. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116063 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145034 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150252 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139003 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146025 This lot comes to just over $600 delivered after rebates.
hey thanks for the response. awesome help but seeming as I'm a little strapped for cash are there any good/great/awesome configuration that are that the cost level of $400 and $500?
If $600 wasn't a doable budget then why say it was? :S Use this CPU instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116036 that'll save $15, and use this video card instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150275 After rebates, this'll save you $88.
with this set up..... will i be able to play World of Warcraft on HIGH res. with out any lag and enjoy it? Is there a huge difference between 512 vs 384 vid card
it's not really the memory that makes the big difference, but for world of warcraft even 256MB would be plenty. Any recent graphics card can handle WoW with ease, this one included.
I believe the E4500 has double the cache - it makes a slight difference to performance, but not that much.
