You can build a better quad core PC for that money on either platform if you get a better value motherboard. nforce chipsets are also not recommended these days, as their reliability is soso. Either use this motherboard and CPU combination: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128373 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103291 Or this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128347 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017 Both will perform similarly, but if you're into overclocking, the Intel will perform better. The Intel is also far more energy efficient. The rest of your choices are fine apart from the power supply and the fact you have not chosen a a graphics card. The case is not the best I've seen but it will be sufficient. This is a better PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139001 and this is the graphics card I would recommend for light gaming and HD video: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102792
