I have recently purchased everything I need to build my own computer and was wondering if anyone had tips or suggestions on things to remember while building it? I have taken old working computers apart and put them back together, but I have never built one totally from scratch. I just want to make sure I get it working properly and have everything working at full potential. I also plan on trying to use Nlite to slim down an old version of XP I have. It was originally for a Dell computer, but I have read you can remove the drivers and OEM stuff from the file and be able to use it on a different computer. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
just remember to ground yourself before handling anything electrical, especially ram. Then keep your motherboard diagram handy for your front ports connection. The other thing is to take your time and make sure nothing is backwards such as ram processor or hearsink. other than that good luck.
Hey thanks for the advice. I just put everything together and it went flawless. Nlite also worked awsome to convert my old Dell XP installation cd into a cd that I can use on any computer.
