Im having problems with trying to burn a dvd that keeps saying its to big. Im using dvd shrink, did the compression and still says file is to big. What do I need to do?? Help.... Thanks
I have the 2.3 I think and it shows that slider and when I backed up the file it was in the green, but when I went to burn it it wouldnt let me do it, saying to big, rather the time or the space. I have done some other movies and it has done ok, dont understand it...
I don't understand either. If you have videofile 4.37G it fits DVD±R disc. Are you sure it's really under 4.37G ?
Yeah, I have this discs in front of me and they say data 4.7 gb and the file is 4.49 gb, does it have to be below the 4.37 GB that your saying???
Sorry blondie, but you must be really blond because when the disc says 4.7G, it means 4.7 billion bytes which is 4.37 gigabytes. So, your 4.49GB is still too big.
Ok, I was able to burn the dvd, but it wouldnt automatically come on when put in the dvd player, had to go in and open each part to watch it, didnt just play all the way through, like normal. Is that from compressing it or what??
What program are you using to burn the movie and how are you doing it because compression shouldnt do that.
Blondie37 Compression should not do that, it sounds like it was copied but not encoded properly. Some discs with protection I have seen do that. Try recopying the disc with DVD Decrypter and then shrink. Dela has a lot of the guides on the thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/42536 See if this helps you.
I am going to try the DVD Decrypter but the only program I have used has been Dvd Shrink, which saves the movie then I compress it, then I copied it as a data disc using Record Now. Should using the dvd shrink program to compress it wouldnt it still make it play without going in to the disc to play each section of the movie??
I guess what Im asking is what program is best for making movies that are larger than 4.37GB, smaller in order to copy onto a dvd, and still be able to watch without going in maually through the dvd player to play the movie??
Well there's your problem. DVDShrink is the program you want to use, but you can't burn a movie as a data disc. You should download nero and use that since it creates all the folders you need for a normal playing movie.
Here Blondie, i know its confusing when you first start so here are two guides a compiled just for you lol. Actually, i did them a while ago http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/user_guides.htm Click on DVD Shrink and Record Now Max
