Lately I have been getting a burn error every time I try to back up a DVD. I have tried to burn using only DVD Shrink. I have tried to burn using DVD Fab then DVD Shrink. Either way I get the same error. I have Windows XP on my lap top. I have used the same burner and lap top combo to back up more than 200 DVDs and over 20 Wii games. Any ideas or help with this would be greatly appriciated. This is what the burn error says: 1C83-7220-10E5-477X-405C-373X-**** Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.60 (1021), size=45056 bytes, created 9/10/1999 12:06:00 PM ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=169792 bytes, created 3/14/2007 12:43:16 PM NT-SPTI used Nero API version: 7.9.6.0 Using interface version: 6.3.1.4 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\ Application: ahead\Nero - Burning Rom Internal Version: 7, 9, 6, 0 === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : IC25N060ATMR04-0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R2412 atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R2412 D: CdRom0 TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182M E: CdRom5 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 72351744 (0) Byte BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 494MB (506668kB) Free physical memory: 131MB (134336kB) Memory in use : 73 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 2.9.2007 NeroAPI 7:05:31 PM #1 Text 0 File NeroAPI.cpp, Line 4525 Error #1020 Existing drivers: File 'Drivers\ASPI32.SYS': Ver=4.60 (1021), size=25244 bytes, created 9/10/1999 12:06:00 PM File 'WNASPINT.DLL': Ver=V1.18, size=57344 bytes, created 11/5/2002 3:16:52 PM File 'Drivers\PXHELP20.SYS': Ver=2.03.18a, size=20576 bytes, created 6/22/2005 7:32:53 PM (Prassi/Veritas driver for win 2K) Registry Keys: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\AllocateCDROMs : 0 (Security Option)
Your system has nothing to work with at all. You need to free up your system resources like deleting unwanted files, programs etc. make backups of these for later use. Don't multitask at all, keep all activities at a minimum while ripping and encoding. Lastly give that HDD a good defrag, it may thank you later!
Heres a link to a similar thread about that same problem (ERROR #1020) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/555201 Follow those directions because I'd say the same. I'm not an expert at reading Nero logs like some others, but the way it looks here Looks like you upgraded from Nero 6 to 7 without totally deleting 6 from your system. If I'm wrong hopefully someone will correct me. Either way I'm going to ask this thread be moved to Nero forums because DVD shrink and DVDFab HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH BURNING.
ONYA---Didnt even look at that memory available, good call. That will either fix the problem or help down the road preventing a different one.
