    Change your media ! I have a BenQ burner and although they do do both mine seems to favour -R . Always use good media Ritek G04 or Verbatim have always been good for me .

    Hi, you're burning too close to the edge of the disk.
    The media you're using is the worst there is.
    Your nero version is outdated, try to get the version 6.6.0.18
    DO NOT GET THE LATEST VERSION 6.6.1.4 - It's got bad bugs in it.
    Oh, and edit out your serial number from that log... Starts with 1A***
    When i get home tonight i'll give that log a proper look.

    @kennys,
    I took a good look at your nero log and I only see two issues that should be addressed.

    First, as permiggs stated, keep your current version of nero, since the latest release (6.6.1.4) will not auto burn with nero.

    Your burner's firmware is upto date @ version BSOB

    Your applying booktyping to the DVD+R media, whicn completes successfully.

    Here:
    *************************************************************
    Last possible write address on media: 2295103 (510:01.28, 4482MB)
    Last address to be written: 2286127 (508:01.52, 4465MB)
    ***************************************************************

    Try having shrink create an output files size of 4300MB so as not to burn too close to the outer edge of the disk as permiggs suggested, ther is an increased chance of burn errors occuring the further out you burn. In shrink goto: edit-->preferences on the preferences tab use the dropdown menu to change the setting to custom and enter a value of 4300.

    Here is where the problem lies:
    *****************************************************************
    1:11:12 AM #25 SCSI -1135 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1434
    SCSI Exec, HA 1, TA 1, LUN 0, buffer 0x00C70000
    Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR)
    HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK)
    TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND)
    Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)
    Sense Code: 0x0C
    Sense Qual: 0x00
    CDB Data: 0x2A 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x20 0x00 0x00 0x00
    Sense Data: 0x70 0x00 0x03 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x12
    0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0C 0x00

    1:11:12 AM #26 CDR -1135 File Writer.cpp, Line 311
    Write error
    *******************************************************************

    "KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR", this suggests that your burner just doesn't like the media your using. Try switching to another brand like Sony, verbatim, MITSU (if you can check and make sure they're made in japan)

    Your writing at 4X, keep it there.

    The process looks good, it's just the media you're using that's bad.

    Hey John, that's my client!! LOL..........Thanks mate...

    Yeah Kenny, looks like John has it under control. I'll leave you to him.
    There's only a couple more little details:
    You're rolling a bit too heavy there. Try to close everything non relevant when you do a burn. Yes, that includes the net connection, the firwall and the anti-virus...
    That's another Gb by the way... You don't need that really...

    @Garmoon

    There's a massive bug at the moment driving everyone crazy... It won't automate with Shrink. You can get around by 2 stepping. Shrink to HDD then burn with Burning Rom.

    If you have the old update still in your HDD, yeah you can downdate it... I installed the older version (6.6.0.18) earlier today...

    @ permiggs Do I have to uninstall the program first and reinstall with my disc and upgrade to 6.6.0.18 which I still have? Or just click on the 6.6.0.18 file to down grade? the existing 6.6.1.4 version? Thanks

    @permiggs, I havent heard of any bugs in 6.6.1.4 however I know the latest offering for Nero7 is reported to be full of bugs and I see alkohol advising people to switch back to 7.0.1.4

    Hi Gwendolin.

    This new ver. 6 update isn't automating with Shrink. You have to do it on a 2 step job, like burning after Shrink does the work as a separate task. It's just the whole annoyance of it... I'm staying clear of ver. 7 for now.

    @ garmoon
    No need to unninstall... Just 'upgrade' to the old update... :)

    @John
    Chill mate, i was only joking! ;)

    No offense here, but that may be the real culprit there. "KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR & KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST" usually means that your burner doesn't like the media you're using. Try other high quality media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "advanced azo or datalife plus" or Maxell (made in japan by Hitachi). In addition, I didn't see an "existing drivers" at all, I wonder why there's no ASPI?

    Just incase if you want to look deeper into the issue you're having, below is an example (successful burned log taken from mine). Maybe you can compare mine to yours and see if you'll notice any differences.
