I am trying to burn a movie i have on my computer to a dvd everything works out fine but when i put it in a dvd player it only plays for about 10 mins of the whole moive and when you look on the back of the dvd it only appears to have burnt about a quarter of an inch around. I have probably spent about 5 hours looking through different forums but nothing seems to work if anyone knows a way to fix this that would be great.
That still didnt work it said it finished again but then not all of it was written its not just that file its everyone i try... im using DVD+R but i dont think that should be a problem
Can u tell all of us exactly what u r doing with all the steps and please be very specific ( including the programs and hardware )
Okay i am using nero vision 4 with DVD+R TDK DVDs. My burner is opticar DVD RW AD_7190A the file is an AVI but the Nero reformats it. I Select the and file and make my menus i set the speed to max and to determine the maximum speed and take off burn at once cause that doesn't even start if i select that. It starts.. it transcodes and everything it then starts burning then it says burn is completed then put it in the dvd player and it only plays about the 10 min. If you need more i can tell you but thats pretty much it i dont think i forgot anything
1) slow down burn speed to 1/2 of disc rating 2)use this http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/552742 3) burn with imgburn, free from www.imgburn.com 4) use good media as Taiyo Yudens
everything can be done by using the first two suggestions. Flick will burn the file fine on it's own after conversion and there is no need to run out and buy different discs at this point... Not for a downloaded movie with zero compression.
nero nero nero - hmmmmm ok i would use convertxtodvd or like mentioned the free app dvdflick beta which has menu function aswell as convertxtodvd you sure your reading that small burn right on the discs? you may be reading the gap left at outer edge as the bit burnt when its the left over space really? tdk? hmmm not brill media - tell use the dye info off that disc.

Okay in the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller i have three things the INtel(r) -8280 1DB Ultra ATA storage controller - Primary IDE channel and -secondary channel which of these do i uninstall
right click on INtel(r) -8280 1DB Ultra ATA storage controller and uninstall / reboot pc then go back to primary/secondary etc and check dma enabled
