I have a really annoying problem!!! the past two dvds i have tried to burn both have stopped burning at 33%. I am currently using Nero 6 and Cheetah DVD burner. Nero just stops burning the disc all together at 33%. And cheetah burner Comes up with an error message at 33% but continues to burn. However on cheetah burner all my files come up. for example with movies i have tried to burn like 5 movies on to one disc. on cheetah burner it'll burn all 5 however one of the movies will play 15 minutes and will stop playing. therefore it skips the movie. is this problem to do with the DVD discs (i am using non branded DVD disc) or is it the file which may be corrupted. please help as i am getting really p***** off. Really apprecaite time and effort.
Thanks for replying today i went into town and brought some good quality dvd-R discs hoping it might work. i also installed the latest firmware for my BenQ DVD RW drive. i was trying to burn a couple of movies on to my disc but after 33% it failed and shut down my computer. could it be because of a corrupt file. i am currently using cheetah burner. Sorry i could not get the log file off nero because it shut my computer down. please help and thanks again.
I really need to be able to see your log file to help. You can get it by browsing to your Nero folder in the "programs" folder. Make sure you delete the serial number out of the log at the top of the page before you post it or you will have everyone using it
Here is my log file. I thought U should know that when i was downloading this movie on via torrent. it did come up with file corrupted message when downloading however it did download the full movie and the whole movie was watchable. do u think this might have an effect on the burning. ====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ====== Ashraf Bahadur Ash Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 26/10/2004 16:35:32 Nero Version: 6.6.0.14 Internal Version: 6, 6, 0, 14d (Nero Express) Recorder: <BENQ DVD DD DW1650> Version: BCDC - HA 1 TA 1 - 6.6.0.14 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI CD-ROM: <PIONEER DVD-ROM DVD-116 >Version: 1.21 - HA 1 TA 0 - 6.6.0.14 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : MAXTOR 4K040H2 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: Off CdRomPeripheral : PIONEER DVD-ROM DVD-116 atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : BENQ DVD DD DW1650 atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === PIONEER DVD-ROM DVD-116 D: CDRom0 BENQ DVD DD DW1650 E: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 40894464 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 255MB (261616kB) Free physical memory: 78MB (80612kB) Memory in use : 69 Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 7.2.2007 ISO compilation 19:04:08 #1 Text 0 File Isodoc.cpp, Line 6314 Iso document burn settings ------------------------------------------ Determine maximum speed : FALSE Simulate : FALSE Write : TRUE Finalize CD : TRUE Multisession : FALSE Burning mode : DAO Mode : 1 ISO Level : 1 (Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 char) Character set : ISO 9660 Joliet : TRUE Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : TRUE Allow more than 255 characters in path : TRUE Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE 19:04:08 #2 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 127 Reader running 19:04:08 #3 Text 0 File Writer.cpp, Line 122 Writer BENQ DVD DD DW1650 running 19:04:08 #4 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3297 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 19:04:08 #5 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3230 Turn on Disc-At-Once, using DVD media 19:04:09 #6 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 267 Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB) Last address to be written: 2230479 (495:39.54, 4356MB) 19:04:09 #7 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 279 Write in overburning mode: NO (enabled: CD) 19:04:09 #8 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2433 Recorder: BENQ DVD DD DW1650, Media type: DVD-R Disc Manufacturer: GSC003 - Disc Application Code: 64, Disc Physical Code: 193 19:04:09 #9 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 445 >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<< ========================================= 19:04:09 #10 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 830 Setup items (after recorder preparation) 0: TRM_DATA_MODE1 () 2 indices, index0 (150) not provided original disc pos #0 + 2230480 (2230480) = #2230480/495:39.55 relocatable, disc pos for caching/writing not required/ required, no patch infos -> TRM_DATA_MODE1, 2048, config 0, wanted index0 0 blocks, length 2230480 blocks [BENQ DVD DD DW1650] -------------------------------------------------------------- 19:04:09 #11 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1043 Prepare recorder [BENQ DVD DD DW1650] for write in CUE-sheet-DAO DAO infos: ========== MCN: "" TOCType: 0x00; The only real problem I see here is I also would be burning @ x4 instead of x8, but this probably is not your problem. So it might be just as you suspected (a bad file) Have you tried to burn any other movies and if so do those work fine? What process are you using to make these files DVD Compliant or are they already in a DVD format? I would also stick with using Nero and get rid of the Cheetah proggie all together. Please let me know your complete process from start to finish the more info you can provide the better we can help.
