    I have been trying to burn Memorex DVD +R DL disc without any luck. I get the following error "Burn Process Failed 2.4x Error" but I don't know what I am doing wrong. As soon as I start the burn, I get this error. No data is even written to the disc. My DVD burner is a BENQ DVD DD DW1650. Please help.

    Memorex is the trouble.
    The only DL media that is recommend is Verbatim 2.4x or 4x.

    Post a burn log if you have one.

    I have been getting the same error. How do I find out what type of disks to use to burn? I have been burning for a while and this is the first time that I have had this issue. I purchased the Memorex DVD-R, recordable, 16x, 4.7GB, 120 minute disks. My DVD recorder that is part of my desktop computer tower is a DVD+/-RW, 8x Double Layer. Any help would be mightily appreciated.

    Thanks,

    meeshw

    They show the results others had with the different Media.
    Verbatim recieved good ratings, while Memorex were mixed.

    @meeshw
    As you can see from this link there are three different discs that Memorex puts thier name on.

    The results are mixed, so depending on your burner and firmware you are taking a risk.
    Maybe they will all burn fine one time and the next who knows.

    I use Ritek RiData R03 which has mixed results but works fine in my writer.
    But buy only branded media like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Ritek and maybe Sony.
    They make discs not just put thier name on someone else's crap.
