Hello everyone. I am running <bold>win2k</bold> using <bold>Nero 7.0.1.4</bold> With an <bold>NEC DVD_RW ND2500A With Firmware 1.08</bold> Burning to <bold>Taiyo Yuden Disks (TYG03)</bold> purchased from Supermedia store I have had about 16 coasters now about 90% of the way through a 100 pack spindle and the error is always: <bold>Burn Process Failed / Unspecified Recorder Error</bold>. The error ONLY happens at the very beginning (almost immediately after I click burn) or near the very end of the burn process. To make sure its not a problem with resources, I turn most everything off -- P2P, no media (video/audio) plays so nothing intereferes with the burning. I'm not sure why these errors happen. I am posting my log below. Hopefully someone will be able to analyze it, because I don't know where to start. I previously used SONY DVDs (sorry no code) and I had the same problems. try changing all this first. All the DMA settings need to be on. Are you sure you have everything possible turned off as you dont have enough memory to burn squat.You might consider at this point to invest in some more ram as you only have 54 meg free
Thanks! I think that did it. I can't be sure only burned two disks so far. But I had assumed DMA was on. Now with it turned back on, the buffer doesn't fluctate under 100% .. it stays constantly full. And it burned a disc MUCH faster.
no probs thats an easy fix, still think you need to invest in some more ram though as bigger projects will require more resources,
Looks Like I spoke too soon. I got two errors again. One at the end and one at the beginning. Here's the log for the latter. I have DMA on for the DVD drive .. but not the HDs .. I think i need to get new drivers for the HD controller. Would that matter? I hear ya on the ram. I am running on a p3/866 -- so i'm about to buy a new machine. This one just happens to be perfect for simple browsing, instant messaging and playing back music .. not to mention burning disks. appearantly not...LOL Firmware appears to be a little behind, current version should be 1.0A and can be found here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces Try this only if the other suggestions do not work. It also appears that you have Roxio running on your machine, which is known to cause conflicts with Nero and other burning apps. Yeah I've looked at that thread a couple of times, I'm trying to stay away from it. LOL Gear has banned himself for personal reasons, but you and I both know he is tenacious and will return in due time...shame he worked so hard to become and addict and then decide to go belly up. It probably wouldn't be such a bad idea for me to ban myself as well...LOL
