what everyone using for burn speeds for there CDs. Max 48X or a lower speed as most of us do with our DVDs at 4X
Hi there, I made a bet with a friend that burning a CD at 52x would take almost the same time as burning one at 24x. 1. We burned a CD at 52x 2. We burned an other one at 24x Based on his hardware, P4 2.8 Ghz we noticed that it took almost the same time. WHY ? Because at 52x, the PC can't feed the burner that fast. So when the burner buffer is empty, it stops burning, waits for the buffer to refill, then starts burning again. And it goes round and round. At 24x, it seems to be feeding it constantly without a problem. This is why I burn all my CD-R at 24x max and my DVD-R at 2x and I get 100% results ! My 2 cents...
Hey ddp: what is it you consider "older"? I'm 2001.HP1400, 1.43ghz, 512 mb mem, 130 hd, ati graphics/tv tuner/vga/rca, wireless network, and more to tell
I burn @ 8X for the CDs I play in the Pioneer deck in my truck and 16X for everything else. I prefer the lowest C1/C2 rates I can get over saving a minute or two
