I haven't found the answer to this one, seems like everyone has the OPPOSITE problem. My DVDs play on my Norcent DVD player, my DVD player at work, and play through my USB burner. But if I put them in my computer's DVD-ROM, Explorer freezes up the entire computer and I have to manually reboot. Not a major problem except when I want to copy an already made DVD using the DVD-ROM and have the blank in the burner, so I can copy on the fly. My DVD-ROM has played them in the past, and it does run CD programs. Any suggestions?

Try updating the firmware for your dvd-rom.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried that but it didn't work. I was thinking...since I think I [bold]didn't[/bold] burn the DVDs as DVD-ROM (is that the default for DVD Shrink?), could it be that the DVD-ROM doesn't recognize them? But why does my new DVD burner still recognize them?

    btw...I found out my DVD-ROM is a NEC DV-5700A.
