I cannot find this topic elsewhere so here it goes. I have burned DVD's which on playback on standalone player (more than one player) will randomly skip at various places on the DVD. Ritek media. Doesn't matter which burning program I use, NERO 6, DVD XCopy, DVD Shrink, etc. What kinds of things can cause this problem? Could it be running other tasks while the burn is taking place? Any suggestions would be appreciated. How about the quality of the burner? Mine is LITE-ON (?). New 3.2 mh computer.
This is a good start. When backing up dvd's its recommended you only run your backup programs. You could also try burning at a slower speed ... what speed are you burning at? Other things you can do: 1) make sure your ide settings are set to DMA. 2) update your aspi layer:http://wombleintheuk.tripod.com/Final/ForceASPI/ForceASPI.htm Burners ok .. just make sure the firmware is up to date.
