I have successfully been watching dvd's created with DVD Shrink, ripit4me, and or dvd decrypter. Note, I am now using dvd decrypter HD and dvd shrink. Everything is buring just fine, and I can play them on my PC of origin, but when I play them on my home theater dvd (yamaha) player it says no disc. I am using the same discs as always, Taiyo 8x DVD-R.

    Help!!!

This might sound really stupid, but I had the same problem. I was using Ty 8x -R shiny silvers to back up my movies. They wouldn't play in my Toshiba stand alone. I changed to Ty 4x -R Inkjet Printables, and they worked. So you may want to try a different seep of discs.

You should still be able to use the Taiyo 8x DVD-R disks (as long as DVD-Rs are what you were using), just [bold]burn at 4x[/bold] instead of 8x if that's what you're doing.

Thanks John, I am going to try that. Right now I think I am at burn fastest. Appreciate input.

No problem, give it a shot, I'm sure it'll work.

Note: You should never set the burn/write speed to max, it can cause problems.

I have been having similar problems with backing up a movie from my computer's DVD burner. DVD Decrypter and Shrink both tell me that the burn went successfully, but the discs will not play in neither of my DVD players nor in the burner that created the disc. It's crazy. I've burned from 8X down to 2X and i get the same issue... "Playback Error" or the drive locks up.

    Any assistance is appreciated.
