Any with burning experience have any suggestions on the type of DVD media i can purchase that will play movies i burn. I tried Maxwell DVD+R but XBOX wouldnt recognize. Any suggestions?
I backed up Two Towers and it plays fine on my xbox. I used -R media though. i haven't tried +R yet(my burner supports both). I used DVD shrink and Oriphus' guides.
The best DVD-R's I've come across so far use Ritek G-04 dye and are approx. GBP1.00 per disc. The one's I used are the Ridata (4X) DVD-R manufactured by Ritek in packs of 50 from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk I've had no problem whatso ever with these and I've been through many.
Hello, I have used cheap Princo DVD-R discs and they work great. I pay a lot less than Ritek discs costs. Also, there are 3 mfg of DVD-ROM players in the Xbox (Thompson, Samsung, Phillips), so a lot of compatibility depends on that too. Unfortunately 1 out every 10 discs I backed up did not play back, and I don't know if it's the game itself or the media that is a problem. You can get cheap Princo discs from www.rima.com or www.yesbuy.net
I got my Ritek G-04's from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk All my DVD's work with these disc's on both my xbox(unmodded) and my mates PS2(unmodded) Princo's are okay but some recorders don't like them unless you upgrade the firmware to a hacked version. But then there's no support if it screws with your drive.
burned a few movies to dvd. (one w/ subtitles) and both my dvd players AND tvs strech the picture out, this is not so much a problem with the regular film but i cannot see the subtitles fully on the other please help. one player is a built in one on the Tv and the other is an XBOX neither have the option to change the size and strech on the screen. The XBOX has some widescreen/fullscreen but in each mode the movie is still streched... please help.///
@4x about 15 mins for an xbox game. Some take even less time. You just read as an ISO, then write as an ISO to DVD-R. Perfect!
