Hello ... I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar problem to mine or know where I can find an answer. I've read the other threads and have not been able to find a similar topic. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to ask. I'm a semi-novice, so my terms may not always be correct. I've haven’t had any problems burning dvds in the past. (I’ve been using Shrink, DVD43 and Nero). I recently made a backup of a dvd. Everything went fine and everything worked. I started the process again with another dvd. This time, neither Shrink or Nero would recognize anything in either drives (Burner and CD-ROM). After further investigation, it appears that BOTH drives are now shot. The CD-ROM can read data, but doesn’t recognize movies (retail or backup). My burner can't read anything. Media Player won't recognize movies (ISO or retail) but it'll play mpeg movie. It’s bizarre … I didn’t do anything differently that I hadn’t done in the past, then all of the sudden both devices went kaput. My entire system now has to be rebuilt – but I sure wouldn’t want to repeat this problem again. Any insight? (My burner is new – AOPEN Chameleon) Thanks
I didn't know I was going to get 'slapped' for double posting. Since this issue was related to burning a dvd with Shrink and experiencing hardware problems with my driver, I wasn't sure which thread would attract a response.
