The other day I tried burning The Da Vinci Code. I didn't realise it was more then 2 hours long and there was an erro in the middle of the burn. Is there a way to fit this movie on a single DVD-R.

    Hi pasc
Yes there are several programs that will compress it to fit on a single layer dvd - like the free DVD Shrink or paid programs like Nero's Recode or Slysoft's CloneDVD.

For the burn failing - what media are you using? Is the burners firmware up to date?

I'm using InterVideo WinDVD Creator because it came with my Toshiba labtop. I had to split the movie in 2 and burn them on two DVD-R. I was hoping that it can fit on a single one. So if I use DVD Shrink, it will compress the video onto one single disk?

Yes it will - Shrink compress the file to fit on a single layer disc.

If you have Nero installed Shrink will autoburn with that. If not you can autoburn also w/ Decrypter or ImgBurn. Just need to pick that option when you click backup under select back target.
    decrypter
    Shrink tweak for ImgBurn
