I dunno if this is the right section for this(as it would primary deal with DVD-audio), but I couldn't find any other sections that dealt with it... Anywho, I'm a big collector of bootleg music shows, and lately I've been noticing a lot of shows being distributed in 24-bit format. Now, I know the difference between 24-bit and 16-bit audio in regards to quality of sound, etc., but what is the practical use of having 24-bit files? I know you cannot burn them to a CD-R, and to my knowledge you cannot burn your own DVD-audio discs(which use 24-bit audio, right?), so is the practical use only to listen to them on your computer via your 24-bit-capable soundcard??? Is there any way to for me to create my own DVD-audio discs that would retain the 24-bit nature of the files??? Thanks so much for your time and input, as I am quite stumped on this one...
