I have a PC game that has 5 CD's. Is there a way to merge them and put them on a DVD? The only thing im wondering is when you install the game. And it asks for Disk number 1, 2, 3 and so on. How does it sense its all on one disk?
It varies depending on how the files are setup. The installer could be hard coded, or it could simply look for a particular file and if it doesn't find it, it'll prompt you to insert the next disc. My recommendation is to use a program such as Nero and burn several images to the hard drive that you can test with. You can then use a virtual machine to test the image to see if that game will load properly. Depending on how the files are setup, you may be able to change some of the install settings, such as an .ini file.
