Is this possible to do so, that is to use 700Mb CDR and burn a 778Mb SVCD file? If so, what software do I need to use? My Easy CD Creator riht before the entire process simly states my CD media is not large enough! Any comments will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
there are 2 good programs out there...one is nero and the other is nti cd maker 6. You must use the super video mode (not video mode)..you can get around 825 meg of svcd on a 700mb cd...the reason is that it is burnt in x2a mode which has no data error correction so you don't take up space for the data error correction.
what about burning a large avi or mpeg file to a 700mb disk when the file is 710 to 775mb? a little loss in quality is acceptable. i have virtual dub and adobe premiere, but i dont know how to use them very well...how can i shrink these video files to get them on a disk???
a true avi file is an uncompressed file so you will not be able to fit it on a 700mb disk if over that size.. however, you can convert to xvid or divx and set it to go down to 700mb and you should not see that much loss. You can also make it a mpeg2 (svcd file) and compress it to fit on a 700mb disk

depends what you want to do...to make a divx file, you need divx 5.1 and a front end gui.. to make a vcd or svcd, the best is tmpenc...there are guides at afterdawn that show you how to make these..most all the software is free and links to them are on this site..

yes, but I never used adobe premier and only experimented with virtual dub...so you might look at the forums here on making whatever you decide to make..remember most of the software needed is free so you might experiment...
never tried adobe premier, since its not free. also get xvid, koepi's build. i post a link to a FAQ in the xvid/divx.
