Ironies of ironies, I have few problems ripping and burning a legit commercial dvd. I am using tiger operating system, mtr and popcorn. However when burning a bootleg dvd, I get some messages from MTR ...deliberate bad sectors, illegal request etc. I burn them anyway and they will play on the Mac but not on the DVD players attached to the TVs. The media is DVD-R and I have used several different brands including Fujifilm. The format of one bootleg disc is UDF. Any ideas of what is happening. Most of the bootleg dvds burn successfully. The one I am trying to copy does not play on the dvd player (TV) but will play on the computer. It is one of a "box set" that overall does play on the TV. Another trait is that on some of the copies I made of this disc, the TV screen does the verticle thing and the picture is in black and white. Other copies of the same disc reads incorrect disc. Again all will play on the computer..any ideas?

first off.. dont post what kind of dvd it is.. this is a public forum...

second of all.. since it is one of those.. it would be harder to tell what it is.. because it may not follow one of the standard dvds as a commercial one..

and if it is not encrypted, you should have no reason to use MTR. you should be able to just make a copy to copy..
