hey there, ive burnt dvd-5 for a long time now but am gonna give DL DVDs a go, but is there anything i should be aware of? With DVD-5 i never burn past 4300mb, is there a similar step to take with DL? also how does nero or any other software sort out burning to a different layer? will it just max out the first layer and then start the 2nd, or cut at a suitable point like a chapter or a change in video? thanks.
Best to use free ImgBurn to burn a DL disc. http://www.imgburn.com/ Its a good program that takes little to no getting used to. Even guides at that website http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=1777 or here at Afterdawn. If you use a ripper such as DVDFab HDDecrypter (free) that makes a Video_TS file, It will use that to build an .iso for burning, or will burn any .iso you have.
One small thing to add to Deadrum's solid advice, make sure you use quality blank media. Verbatim is at the top of that list. And don't multitask whilst burning. Happy burning!
Yubious A lot of us use 8000 mb as a limit for the DL DVD's Another small thing to add to 7thsinger ,Don't try and burn to fast to start with ease into it for a better outcome. bean55
