Yes, just wondering if someone could help me solve my cd-r audio burning problem. I'm trying to burn some mp3 onto a cd-r (using hp 80-min 48x) using Nero (updated to the latest). I've got an external maddog 16x DVD±R/±RW (firmware updated to 2.F9). I've tried so many times but failed everytime. I even tried burning disc at the lowest speed 16x, but still no hope. Is it the cd-r discs I'm using or is it nero. Please help!

Definately a media problem, which is unusual, the mad dog is actually an NEC 3500 which as yet I have not heard a bad thing about, including its media compatibility. CMC make decent CD-R's as far as I'm concerned, but try something different anyways. Before you do do though try burning TAO not DAO see if that helps.
Ican't believe it I was so ready to through those cd-r discs out but with ur suggestion I tried tract at once and it worked. Why is it that tao works but not dao, because almost all forums i look into says use dao for audio burning.
In non technical terms, sometimes audio (specifically downloaded) has rough edges, and nero's DAO layout will not suffice. It will see pause frames between tracks as errors.(TAO will not) It seems to be a nero specific error, I use Nero and Veritas Record Now, RN has never had a DAO error, whereas Nero has for me many times. Forums recommend DAO over TAO as TAO CD-R's created are not compatible with some standalone devices. (this is pretty rare these days)
