    I am using an external CD/DVD re-writer to burn my cd's onto my hard drive, and then onto iTunes. However they are taking up a ,lot of hard drive space and i don't think a typical song should be using 40-50 mb!!!! Can anyone please help???

    It's likely you are ripping them as .wav files, Apple Loseless files, or AIFF files, all of which are ridiculously large..

    Go [bold]Edit[/bold] ==> [bold]Preferences[/bold] ==> [bold]Advanced[/bold] (tab) ==> [bold]Importing[/bold] (tab)

    Also, have a look at the first question of my FAQ, as it may be of some help.. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/295183

    However, if you are looking to rip songs into iTunes, (as you cannot use ogg), I suggest you rip your tracks with Exact Eudio Copy.. as the experts in here will tell you, it's the best of the best. You can rip high quality VBR mp3's and then subsequently import into iTunes..
