Hello All, I am having the hardest time trying to burn a simple data DVD with Nero 6 on XP. I'm just trying to backup my 20+ Gb of music that I have on my HD. I've tried everything! If I grab like 4 Gb of music and try to burn a data dvd using Nero, it burns fine with no errors. But when I try to read the DVD, it hangs, crashes my pc and gives me the dreaded BSOD, then I have to reboot. Using Nero, I've tried burning an MP3 DVD(the format of all of my music), Data DVD, and Backup DVD. They all burn with no issues. But when I try to read any of these DVD's.......blue screen! I tried burning my "My Pictures" folder also to rule out corrupted data....same results. This should be a simple thing...what am I doing wrong? Yes, I've tried single session and multisession DVD's to no avail. A side note...I can burn movie DVD's just fine, and I have the absolute latest firmware for my Sony DRU-530a. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm sick of making DVD data coasters! Thanks. ~Abe
I am having almost the exact same problem. I tried a google search on the problem and it led me here. I am using XP, Nero 6, and a Sony DRU-710A. The only difference between your problem and mine is that I can read the DVD fine in my DVD writer, but have had no luck reading it with my DVD ROM drive. Hopefully someone here can help us out.
