I am a newbie to this forum, so please excuse any really stupid questions. I currently backup my dvd commercial movie collection to dvd+r blanks by using either DVD Shrink - or Magic DVD Copier. These programs read, decrypt, and shrink the movie to fit on a 5 GB dvd blank. It takes about an hour to burn a 2 hour movie onto a dvd+r disk.

If I download a div x movie from the internet, is it encrypted the same way my commercial movies are ? Can I use the same programs I mentioned above , once the div x files are on my hard drive, to read, decrypt, and burn my downloaded movie onto a dvd + r disk ? Using the above programs ( to backup up my commercial dvd movies ) result in a zone free dvd+r. Also, I usually am able to just burn the movie, not the extra stuff on the purchased dvd commercial movie. Will this be the case with the div x downloaded movie?

Are there any problems or quirks or different techniques that I should be aware of if, in fact, I can use the dvd shrink and / or Magic dvd copier to burn these div x downloaded movies onto a blank dvd+r disk.

If the above mentioned programs will NOT work with the div x movies, can you suggest the top program for doing what I want to do ?

    thanks
