burning downloaded videos to dvd

    Ok so i am completely new to this, i have downloaded a couple of videos using ares software and they are all different file types i need help converting these files and burning them to dvds i have tried using dvdflick and when i drag the movie into the prgram it says ffmpeg.exe has generated errors and windows must close it and it does it for every video i try im completely stuck and about to give up hope please help explain this thoroughly cuz i dont know a whole lot about this

    do you have to have a dvd burner or can u just have a cd rom drive and also do the newer dells come standard with dvd burners

    you must have a dvd burner. I *think* a new computer for the most part would come with a dvd burner, but for sure with Dell or any other manufacturer it is a inexpensive option.
