Burning DVD

I'm just gonna ask this here in this section since I had another post and learned a ton. This may go here, it may not. My other post talked about burning videos I have on my pc.

Now I have in the past ripped pro dvd's , if you will, for lack of better words, with DVD shrink and DVD Decryptor (which did I do first to rip it I forget ? lol) Nonetheless, now I have a dvd of my fathers that he made of his Drum Corps performing and he would like a copy.

Because there is no copyright will I be able to rip it without ANY program. or will I need to use a program, and if so , would Nero be the one

In other words,what this thread should really say is..... I am not familiar with how to make a copy of an uncopyrighted DVD. Do I need to rip it then copy it. Or with my two drives, can I just do it without ripping it. Can you give me a brief summary on how to do it. Is it similar to how I burned a video using Nero.

I guess that last paragraph would be the best way to ask for what I need. LOL

Since you already have the great tandem (DVD Shrink and Nero), just set the movie in your DVD-ROM; Subsequently, place a writeable DVD in your burner drive. Now, open the disc (movie) in DVD Shrink and Nero will burn it swiftly after encoding.

 

Yeah, I remember something about, (well I dont' have DVD Shrink now, I just recently formatted) the two of them are connected and they are somehow connected? In what way?

but more importantly, right after I posted, I opened up NeroExpress or NeroVision Express (anyone know the difference) and there was an option to Copy Disk. so can't the Nero do it alone?

If the movie doesn't require compression, then you can instantaneously burn it using Nero Burning ROM. The guide can be found

thanks Pryme. I looked at that link. The first thing it says is "THIS IS NOT A GUIDE FOR COPYING DVDS JUST BURNING" lol . It aint no thing tho. I see the following 5 links they supplied I just wanna figure out the easiest.

I still haven't figured out do I need to rip it first or just copy it with a program

I guess the answer lay in one of those links

The guide certainly wasn't for conventional way of burning DVDs. And like I mentioned on my earlier post, if the movie doesn't require compression and is protection-free then you could burn the VIDEO_TS folder contained in the movie. Again, you don't need to rip the movie since you mentioned that there is no copyright protection or whatsoever present. Follow the guide first and then we'll go from there...

And then the last post said "it is not the tradional way of burning..." That is different than the guide saying this is Not a guide for copying. I mean, you didn't mean to say 'it is not a tradional way of copying"

you see where I am getting confused right there. My last response and ur response to that is prolly confusing me the most right now and has nothing to do with the issue. just frastrating. the dif in saying those instructions were not for copying and you saying that is not trad way to burn whoa

1. what to do to begin with rip/burn copy
2. what IS the traditional way to handle this situation and why not use that
