Hi, I have problems backing up most of the DVD's or burning UDF-disks. My burner is Lite-On 401S@411S (with the newest 411S firmware and it works better than before). I can burn normal data-dvd's with nero and 9/10 of them work (i have some no-name dvd+r as media), but when I try to burn with DVD Shrink or CloneDVD most of the disks fail (I have burned about 5dvd's with success but all of my band of brothers backups seem to fail, could it be somekind of a burn protection? If it is then maybe you could give me some links&advice about how to get rid of it) the error with Shrink is: Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'Crogram FilesAheadNeroWnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.59, size=160016 bytes, created 16.12.2003 19:18:06 Nero API version: 6.3.1.6 Using interface version: 6.0.0.0 Installed in: Crogram FilesAheadNero Application: aheadNero - Burning Rom Recorder: <LITE-ON DVDRW LDW-411S> Version: FS0J - HA 1 TA 0 - 6.3.1.6 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : MAXTOR 6L080L4 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : Maxtor 6Y160P0 atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: Off CdRomPeripheral : LITE-ON DVDRW LDW-411S atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : Generic DVD-ROM 1.0 d344prt Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off CdRomPeripheral : Generic DVD-ROM 1.0 d344prt Port 2 ID 1 DMA: Off === CDRom-Device-Mp === LITE-ON DVDRW LDW-411S F: CDRom0 Generic DVD-ROM H: CDRom1 Generic DVD-ROM I: CDRom2 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: CmdQueuing : 1 CmdNotification: 2 WriteBufferSize: 74448896 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 EraseSpeed : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 511MB (523760kB) Free physical memory: 256MB (262776kB) Memory in use : 49 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Static Write Speed Table: 0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 14.4.2004 NeroAPI 4:01:34 #1 Phase 111 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 266 DVD-Video files sorted 4:01:34 #2 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 118 Reader running 4:01:34 #3 Text 0 File AudioCompilationImpl.cpp, Line 817 DRM: StartDrmRecording(RealRec:1, ImageRec:0, Copies:1) DRM: Beginning burn process. 4:01:34 #4 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3898 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 4:01:34 #5 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3898 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 4:01:34 #6 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3198 Turn on Disc-At-Once, using DVD media 4:01:35 #7 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 244 Last possible write address on media: 2295103 (510:01.28, 4482MB) Last address to be written: 2286111 (508:01.36, 4465MB) 4:01:35 #8 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 249 Write in overburning mode: FALSE 4:01:35 #9 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2107 Recorder: LITE-ON DVDRW LDW-411S, Media type: DVD+R Disc Manufacturer ID: POMSC001, Media Type ID: 002, Product revision number: 0 Disc Application Code: 0, Extended Information Indicators: 1 4:01:35 #10 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 410 >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<< ========================================= 4:01:35 #11 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 813 Setup items (after recorder preparation) 0: TRM_DATA_MODE1 (CTransferItem) 2 indices, index0 (150) not provided original disc pos #0 + 2286112 (2286112) = #2286112/508:1.37 relocatable, disc pos for caching/writing not required/required, no patch infos -> TRM_DATA_MODE1, 2048, config 0, wanted index0 0 blocks, length 2286112 blocks [LITE-ON DVDRW LDW-411S ] -------------------------------------------------------------- 4:01:35 #12 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 982 Prepare recorder [LITE-ON DVDRW LDW-411S ] for write in CUE-sheet-DAO DAO infos: ========== MCN: "" TOCType: 0x00; Bye. ---------- EDIT: Is the serial now gone? And I have two HDD's in the promary IDE and the DVD-Burner alone in the second (as master), those Generic drives are Daemon-Tools's drives... CloneDVD stucks in the middle of burning (on the files i'm currently trying to burn) and DVD Shrink in the middle of reading files (last time it got the files encoded but failed to begin burning). The reason that the DMA is not enabled on the other HDD might be because it's broken (bad sector's like hell ), and Nero said also that it can't read the files succesfully so it could be because of the files are located on a "bad area" of the disk. The HDD is going tomorrow to the company where I bought it so I can get a new one.. Just updated the ASPI drivers from adaptec...can't hurt either?
Why do people put their nero serial number out for display is beyond me but any way's I don't get that deep into the computer language but here's a simple question.. does it only fail while shrink is trying to analyze the movie or does it fail when you burn the movie or your dvd player say's no disc. It might be your no name media, every body seem's to like Verbatim or Ritek g04 try those media you might hqave better success.
Hi, I agree with geestar about that media, Looks like Prodye +R. Also it looks like your Burner is on your primary IDE buss with a dual hard drive set up. You've got DMA enabled on one hard drive and not on the other?? It also indicates you have two generic DVD ROMs on your secondary IDE channel, both with the DMA off. So is this what you have, or am I reading the log wrong? Is one of these drives external? I think I'd get the burner and one of the ROMs on the secondary IDE channel and then put the other ROM on the primary with the two hard drives. I haven't worked with a set up like yours, but it just seems odd the way it is currently configured. Also go into your Device Manager and enable DMA for all these drives. You may want to edit your post and get rid of your Nero S/N I'm just going by the burn log so I hope you can tell us about your computer and all the drives it seems to have. Ditto what geestar said about the media. Cheers, Frank
