Im trying a new topic to try to clarify several things that may be causing my probs. This is where i stand.

1.USED DVDSHRINK FOR DECRYPT AND DECODE: The only weird think was i needed to have the source in my dvd-rom drive to analyse. if i used my rw i would get an error.

    2. I HAVE IMATION -R'S

    3. I PRODUCED A SUCCESSFUL BURN USING ROXIO EASY 6, BUT WILL NOT PLAYBACK IN STAND-ALONE, ROM, OR RW.

    THINGS I NEED TO CLARIFY.....

    1. Does the rw drive have to be master and rom the slave?(opposite now)

    2. is my media ok?

    3. when i added data to be burnt i just selected all the files and added them. i did not make a video_ts folder, nor do i no how to do so.

    4. i have read also that you cannot get a successful playable burn using roxio easy 6 using the creator classic menu. this guy said he has to use the dvd builder menu and change some file sets. does anybody have any info or a guide for this?

i know im asking a lot, thanks for anything. my visions of doing this were highly simplified, now i feel swamped...

I can't answer all of your questions, but:

    1) As far as I know, it shouldn't matter...but I am not an expert on this matter.

    2) I have used Imation -R blanks and have been succesful, but did not stick with the brand because my standalone would skip often when playing them. However, the computer and player both recognized them.

    3) [bold]Your most basic problem is that you are not using a VIDEO_TS folder[/bold] - the standalone and the computer cannot read the disc if it is not structured as a basic DVD.

Create a folder on your hard drive called VIDEO_TS (you MUST use all caps). Put all of your DVD files in this folder (VOBs, IFOs, BUPs). Drag this folder to your blank disc when preparing to burn. Burn.

As for your choice of burning apps, a lot of people on the forums don't seem to like Roxio burning apps. Similarly, I don't use Nero, because my player doesn't recognize discs burnt with Nero (although I haven't tried Nero 6).

Maybe you should try RecordNow Max...it works greatfor me and is widely acknowledged as producing the most compatible DVDs. There is a fully functional 30-day trial, and a great guide located here:

    Good luck
