By launch Nero Burning Rom in the classic mode (not the Nero Express wizard mode). I can't find a way to start nero in the classic mode. I have the full verison not the demo verison. I have tried to check and see which verison I have but it doesn't have any info giving the info. I would appricate any information concerning this issue. Thanks John
John, Go to "start" then to " All Programs", then to "Nero", then to "Nero Ultra 6.0" then click "Nero ROM" (before you forget, right click that and choose "create shortcut" - that will give you an icon to drag unto your desktop) Click icon - Now follow the directions below TO THE LETTER and ya can't miss - Ooohh Yea, Welcome to the Neighborhood - Step by Step – Do not use Nero Wizard. When you open Nero Burning ROM, you will be at the “New Compilation” window. Directly under the title “New Compilation” is a choice block to choose either DVD or CD, choose DVD. Directly under that click on the DVD Video Icon. Then click “New” in the upper right corner of that screen, NOT the main screen. You now are in the DVD Video window. In the left screen, click VIDEO_TS. In the File Browser screen, 3rd from the left, trace your path to the DVDShrink folder holding your work and click on that folder. All of your VIDEO_TS files are now opened in the right screen. Click on the top file, hold down the “Shift” key and then click the bottom file thereby hi-lighting the entire column of files. Click and (holding the left mouse button down) drag the entire column of files to the open screen, second from the left. Now click the icon on the task bar that shows a match on a disc, and then click “Burn” and Baby, Scream it to me, Who’s your Daddy Now ??? (Wheeew, Now I need a cigarette) Guess what my Friend ?? Go watch some TV, call your mother (It’s been awhile since she’s heard from you, don’t ya know? J) You are done !!! Keep all fingers and toes away from Mr. Computer. Never mess with the lady when she’s working – it would be a health thing, you understand - Go and have your coffee, when Nero is done she will let you know ;-)) Enjoy, “P” (Had to come back and clean up the cigarette ashes, Eeooooouuuuu what a stink, wet ashes ;(( _X_X_X_X_X_[small]The “old man” Pete (ö¿ô) Compaq 8000, Pent 4 CPU 2.84GHz, 1GB RAM. 340GB HD, 7200 (Maxtor 120, Western 200 & 20. 4 Drives, JLMS DVD ROM, HP DVD Writer 200j, Nec 4X DVD RW ND-1300A & AXV CD/DVD-ROM. I got Nero Express 5.5 with my burner, and it doesn't include Nero Burning Rom. Is there a way to burn a pre-authored DVD-Video with what I have? Thanks.
kdb, To answer your question, probably not, most likely it will not burn correctly and you’ll wind up with a coaster. The problem is you do not have the full version – you should have a place to buy an upgrade to a full version. If you wish to burn most anything at all, you should have the full boat - There is a freeware program called Burnatonce. I have it, tried it twice, and had no success. I’m still trying to finds a guide for it – With all the bells and whistled that Nero 6.0 has, my opinion is that’s worth the investment ;-) Pete
Hmm...I can upgrade to 6.0 for 35 euros, but I had figured that the difference in option between 5.5 and 6.0 was not sufficient to be worth the upgrade for me. Maybe it is...
With all the "Bells" I think it is - Imagine burning a pretty good quality DVD movie backup on 2 CD's. That's cheap enough to take on a camping trip and play in the SUV's overhead player or just leave in the car - BTW, it would be using Nero's Mini-DVD format. No extra work to do that. Also check out Nero's recode - Pete
I agree with you, Pete, love Nero, always have, always will. It doesn't work for everyone, but i can't complain myself. Is Recode as good as the other compressors ?? Dene
Got mixed feelings, Pete. Wish in a way Shrink could have stayed 'on it's own', just downloaded the Nero Recode add-on off their website. Haven't had time to try it yet, perhaps at weekend. To be honest, i always use DVD2One these days, prefer it over Shrink, no particular reason. I do like the 'Join' mode in DVD2One, sorry i didn't chip in on your post, busy as hell at the time, seems you sussed it anyway All in all, i think it's Nero's gain having Shrink developer on board, but shame to see the end of Shrink as we Know it. Dene.
Dene, DAaaahh, and why do you think Nero hired him ?? My feelings are the same as yours EXACTLY !! I do love the New 3.1.2 Shrink, wish he was still playing with it - I have DVD2One for that exact reason, the joining - I make what I call "My Saturday Special Entertainment Pack" - Pack #1. Consists of 4, DVD-5 movies (I do hate to have to get up to change a disk.) Pack #2. Consists of 3 DVD-9 movies (See above, same reason ) Life is good, Huh ?? "P" PS - I'm trying to find time to play with recode myself - like you, maybe this weekend (Have to see how my Eagles do - "P"
Sounds like a good full days viewing there mate, without having to get up & change discs. Just tried the New Shrink this afternoon, spot on, especially liked the way it opened up Nero when it was done. Gonna definately give Recode a spin, for comparison sake. Dene
I followed the "Burning pre-authored DVD-Video using Nero" article to a T (well atleast i think i did) and also looked over the above directions. I have burnt the DVD but audio doesn't work? Is there a step i most certainly overlooked or anything of the like? Kinda hoping not to have encode it again... Cheers Edit: im using Nero Burning Rom v5.5.9.0
DVD101, The guide above was based on the premise that you used DVDShrink correctly - It sounds like you forgot to leave the audio there. You need to leave the ACS 2ch audio there. You may also leave ACS 6ch there too or, the 5.1. If you uncheck the wrong one, Oooopppppss, you goofed :-( You’ll have to go back and give another shot. If you got your files another way, let me know and I’ll see if I can help - Welcome to the Neighborhood - Pete
