You're burning too close to edge of disc, cut it back to 4300

these are horrible discs and will cause problems every time, try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden

as stated your burner doesnt like your choice of media

Your Nero is several versions behind, update to 6.6.1.4 from Nero site

I'm gonna have to advise against what Gwen just said. The latest Ner version, 6.6.1.4, is filled with bugs. Not being able to autoburn w/ Shrink is one of them.

@glueEater, I thought that 6.6.1.4 was OK and the one full of bugs was in Nero7. version 7.1.0.4, reading threads by alkohol, this is what he is saying. Cheers.

I haven't read that one, but I've read alot of NEro logs with problems and alot of the times it's 6.6.1.4. So taht's what I'm basing it on. But I somewhat sure that you can't autoburn w/ NEro anymore, not w/ the latest version at least? But I might be wrong.

But what does it say about 6.6.1.4? I haven't upgraded to 7 yet so that does little for me. Thanks though good to know.

    Okay done that and that.

Stupid question I know, but how would I go about doing that? I'm skilled enough to generallt muck about with things if I already a general idea of them and use it day to day without it exploding but I don't know great amounts. :)

Really? I was just using Philips 4.7GB DVD-R's. Never had any problems with them before but I'll have to have a look round for some other brand like the ones you suggested.

Okay took cyprusrom's advice and have gone with the 6.6.0.18 update for now and I'll see how things go.

So it just looks like figuring out, or some nice person posting ;), a way to stop it burning to closely to the edge and maybe buying some better quality discs and things should hopefully start working a bit more smoothly. Thanks for all the help and feedback so far people.

To set the target to 4300 Mb, if you use Shrink, ubder EDIT->PREFERENCES, select the "Target DVD Size" to Custom and enter 4300

With nero Recode, you have the same option. Open Nero Recode-> Copy DVD- on the lower right hand side corner you have " Fit To Target" Select Custom and enter 4300. And with good media!not Philips:~)), and burning not too fast, give it a try.
    Good luck!
