I have a Dell System with a NEC DVD+RW ND-1100a drive, running WinXP. I am trying to copy data to a DVD+R disc using Roxio 7 Easy CD Creator - Creator Classic. However I keep getting an error mesg. to insert DVD+RW media.
I recently had to re-install Roxio bec. of a virus on my system and since then have been unable to burn. I've downloaded the latest updates from Roxio and also installed the latest firmware available for my drive from Dell. Any help would be much appreciated.

Try going into your device manager, remove your burner from the system there, then restart and let Windows find and reinstall it again. This may help if the install got messed up in any way.

I removed the dvd burner from device manager and rebooted. XP reinstalled the device, however when I tried to burn via Roxio I get the same mesg. It even says that the supported media types are DVD+R and DVD+RW.

I downloaded the demo version of Nero and was able to burn a data dvd. I very much liked what little I saw in Nero, it offered a lot more options for burning cds and dvds than Roxio does. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi smushtag, I should have told you that Roxio isn't the best software to use, but I hate telling people that software they put good money out for isn't the greatest. I usually try to get some results out of what you have before going the other direction. But now you know. Sorry I didn't say something at first.
