    Hi

I'm a newbie at this game. I have a NEC 1100 DVD-RW, and have Nero 6, and Roxio easy CD creator.

I copied a movie to the DVD but it would only play on my pc and not on the dvd player.

I have read similar threads which refer to exotics like VOB files. What are they? how do I create them? How can I burn my MPEG and avi files to DVD so that I can watch it on my TV via the dvd player?

It all seesm so complicated. Is there an easy foolproof way of doing this?

    Thanks

There are plenty of guides on this site to help you.

    Do a little digging.

DVDSHRINK and NERO 5.5, works almost everytime.
I say almost because I've just burned a + and a - disk both work on my stand alone but neither plays on my computer. This was disk one of a four disk set, all the others play everywhere. Any ideas?????????

Pinnacle, Ulead and others have trial versions available on their sites that will edit and get your avi files ready for a burner like Nero. Even Nero has a trial version. You have to find some of the guides available on this site and use them. You don't want me coming to your house for a guided tour, you can't afford to keep my beer mug full.
