I'm trying to back up some files on a DVD-RW disc but the burning process keeps failing. The current message I'm getting is 'power calibration error'. There don't appear to be any firmware updates for my drive (Optiarc AD-5540A) and I've tried RiDisc and TDK. I normally use RiDisc and the drive has worked with those before. (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR) Keep trying different media, it still seems that the drive isn't liking what you're using. It's also possible that the drive is ready for a replacement.
