Hey All, I'm a total newbie at this so please bear with me. Using a Torrent, I downloaded Season 5 of the Sopranos. They play just fine on my PC using DViX Windows Media players. I believe they are all .AVI files. I am now trying to create a VCD for each episode using Nero 6.6 Ultra with the MPEG-2 Codec installed. When the burn is done, all I get is my menu screen. When I look at it in my PC, it's a bunch of .dat files and folders. Do my .AVI files need to be converted to MPEG files for this to work properly or I am missing something in the burn process? Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated Thanks!
The answer is simple. DO NOT ENCODE THE MOVIES WITH NERO. USE NERO ONLY TO MAKE A (S)VCD FROM A CORRECTLY ENCODED MPEG-1 (VCD) OR MPEG-2 (SVCD). Read http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/110106 and use Nero only on step 2).
Wicked, thank you mr. moderator sir.. er madam.. er.. well, whatever applies... thanks aldaco12! I have read thru your recommended thread, and I will now attempt to graduate to the next level from newbie. If everything goes sideways, I'll post ya back!.. *wink*
