whats up all, well I've graduated from VCD to DVD burning!!!! and I still need guidence!!! anyway, I tried dvd x copy for the first time and I was taken aback by the fact that it splits the moie into two dvd+r disks, but I heard you can burn a movie onto one disk with dvd x copy, is this true?
yes that is true , although i believe it to be a pile of stinking p00 (imho) try using DVD Shrink or DVD2One , the first prog being a freebie
If you have DVDXCopy you should also get DVD Copy Xpress for free with it. That will burn the movie only onto one disc. Yes of course DVD Shrink is also worth using especially since it's freeware. I think everyone is being a little harsh on DVD X Copy. It is nice to be able to have the choice to put your movie onto either one or two discs and I have never had any problem with it. Some long movies such as 'The Pianist' look feeble if you burn to one disc anyway. Also if DVD Shrink tells me that the entire contents will burn to one disc without any compression I then use DVDXCopy since it does the job much quicker and burns to disc automatically.
Apart from it being restrictive (them trying not to let you do a back up of a back up ,altho there is a work around....we know)!! Warning screen (s) etc etc DVD X Copy = $99 half the price of a DVD burner
I agree with you guys about X Copy. It's nice and easy to use - but with DVD Shrink and its easy authoring capabilities, why would you want to use X Copy?
thanks for every ones input, Im just trying to find a fool proof method. someone mentioned using TMPGE for authoring. two questions, can you burn with it also and isnt it a pain in the arce to use?
Fool proof methods are hard to come by. For easy and simplisity I would say use the new version of DVDxpress, has the option for one or two disc burning methods and lazy one button method. But you can`t do any editing ete, its a one button method. the Free ware ways are good, much more control, but not one button, and require at least two progams to run through. To answer the thread question, DVDxCopy 1.52 (last update) is two disks if DVD is over 4.3GB, DVDxPress is one disk using compression software. The New DVDxPress at version 3.0 and above now offer the non compression method (2disks lot of type) or the compression method.
