Hey Gang, I know that when burning DVDs and other sensitive material, it's best to burn slower than the max of your media/burner. For example using 16X media, burn at 4X-8X for best reults. Here's my question for ya. I am going to be backing up a computer to DVDs and put all of this on a new PC. I have a Plextor 8X Burner. I have a 50 pack spindle of Verbatim DVDs, but their old. Their speed is 1X-2.4X (Remember These? LOL) Using the example above, would it be better to burn at their slower speed of 1X? Or would it be better to junk these and buy newer discs? Thanks in Advance
As long as those media have not been in high temperatures or exposed to UV light, they should be fine. Record at 2.4X for the best results.
