Burnt CD/DVD playback problems

Hi,

I've recently bought a DVD burner (Lite-On SHW-1635S 16x DVD+-RW Double Layer Writer), and downloaded a free trial of Nero.
However when, for example backing up DVD's and burning them on to DVD-R and +, during playback, sections of the film were pausing, pixelising etc.

I've tried burning it at slower speeds but it doesn't make a difference. During Transcoding/burning i've turned off all background programs.

Is it due to slow PC, It's specs are CPU: 1.7GHZ RAM: 512MB Graphics: 128MB or Nero not being set up correctly?

... during playback, on what? What brand of discs?

 

yes we are using maxell 16x dvd- + r disc
they do play at the start and end of the disc no problem
its in the middle we have the problem

 

Hi, got a question, is the DMA turned on or are u working in PIO mode? If Pio mode, then that maybe your problem. U need to switch 2 enable DMA.

 

and make sure you aren't putting those paper labels on the dvd's
