Burnt Firewire chip in my Camera?

    I have a JVC GR-DV500U and I've recently had a problem with my camcorders firewire. I know its not my computer or the cable because i've tryed different cables and that doesn't work and i've used other peoples camera and they worked. So i'm pretty sure the problem lies within my camera. Any suggest or idea what could be wrong? Thanks you!

    Did yo upgrade to Win XP sp2? If so that is your problem, roll your computer back to SP 1 and all will work again.
