Imagine three buttons. I'd like the one on the left - the "Play" button - to be highlighted.

For some reason, the disc highlights the middle "Chapter" button instead.

I've checked the right-hand side button, the middle button that I don't want highlighted and the left-hand side button. All say, when right-clicked (in PgcEdit), "force the selection of button 2" (it goes 2, 1, 3). That should be correct. The left-hand side button is number 2 and it should be selected yet, for some reason, it is not.

It is the same on the source.

This is also not the first time I have noticed it. It has happened on other discs, where I have chosen to force the selection of a button and yet the highlight has been placed elsewhere.

Why? How can I make sure that it is the left-hand side button that is highlighted, using PgcEdit (as I have so far)? There must be something that I do not see, within the commands, but I have looked at my options and cannot tell what it is.

    Thanks.

Here it mentions an alternate method of highlighting the preferred button by adding a pre command in the VTSM menu - a poster says that some standalone players are fussy about the preferred method.

I've only just started backing up onto Dual Layer discs and there seems to be a bit of fussiness over the "Seamless" feature, but I guess it's a similar idea with this.

As long as the majority can manage, it's all good.

Thanks. I have bookmarked the link for later.

    EDIT:

I've tried it and it works perfectly. As well, I've noticed that most menus use the detailed "SetHL_BTN" command anyway - so it just needs a tweak.

I want to highlight two buttons, say play and resume. Do you think it is possible to highlight two of them at the same time? I tried force selecting them but it isn’t working. For one button highlighting using a pre command in the VTSM menu works well. I tried highlighting with VOB flag files but my player isn’t accepting this commands. If possible can any one here post the highlighting method using VOB flag files?

Well the thread is asking about the default highlight (singular). If you've got a better solution, post. Otherwise, it would be best to make a new thread - so that your question is not missed.
As for highlighting, I can't see too many options. The average remote isn't going to be able to select more than one button at once, so highlighting more than one would just make for confusion.

doesn't work.. the player will fail to action 2 commands at the same time.... you can highlight both, but the disk will not work.
