I have decided to buy a notebook for when I go to university next year. I am building a desktop PC and I am just looking for a notebook that can run word, and surf the net. My price limit is around 300-400$, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
check also with staples, futureshop & walmart as we have them in barrie, ontario. do you need a notebook or can you use a netbook?
Thanks, but what's the difference between a netbook and a notebook? Just a few letters? Are they the same thing?
a netbook is about 9-11 inches across with no optical drive & either a solid state hard drive or a regular laptop hard drive.
I think I should stick to a notebook in case I need to install some programs via cd/dvd, since I am taking computer science as my concentration
Here are the netbooks I would suggest both just under 300$ and I know your building a Desktop PC so they should be sufficient for schooling. ASUS Eee PC 1001P-MU17-WT Netbook - Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz, 1GB DDR2, 160GB HDD, 10.1" WSVGA, Windows 7 Starter, 6-Cell, White MSI Wind U210-019CA 9S7-124112-019 Netbook - AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 1.6GHz, 1GB DDR2, 160GB HDD, 12.1" Display, 3-Cell, Windows XP Home, Black
I'm leaning toward the ASUS netbook, since it has Windows 7, though I wish it had a bigger screen. Anyone else have any other suggestions?
I think the purpose of having a net book is its small shape, so if you want a bigger screen your looking for a laptop. I know you can get up to 12' netbooks but 10' isnt bad.
I would go to Bestbuy liked suggested, they may not have a wide selection of netbooks, but since you have never actually used one they will give you some insight into what your buying. If not here is the cheapest deal for that netbook on the web .
