hi guys, my friend wants to buy a cable box for the very first time, he wants to go the cable route, and im new to this also.

so..with ..current faults with both KV/SV, is there another cable box in the market?, should buy one of the KV/SV, or hold on for a while untill the channels are sorted? Bearing in mind there has been NO channels added by both KV/SV for a while now. I told him sat and card sharing is best option, but his budget wont allow him, because the initial cost is alittle too much. so any advice would be appreciated..thanks.

There's a few that you could look into buying depending on what your looking for.

    Technomate,
    Spiderbox,
    Blade Media,
    Dreambox.

Starview and Krytview imo are dead.

Research them all to suit your needs.

    Best of luck.

If i thought that m8 i would tell you out straight but tbh i havent a clue i would hate to think that but we said the same about SV if you remember.

i suggest you get a dreambox 800hd m8 you wont be sorry personally i would not be buying any hd box either SV or KV until i would see a full resumption of channels and even then it still cant be guaranteed same with any boxes be it sat or cable

having spent years with a dreambox 800hd i would never advise such a purchase. yes, in the past i thought it was neat but there are many easier boxes to program

kryptview channels returning now all movies and i hear the rest will all be back next week so people if you have KV boxes hold them for the moment maybe no need to get another box and save your money also lots of bargains on flebay for Kv if people still want to keep cable sellers loss maybe your gain

THANKS for all advice guys, very much appreciated.

my friend got hold of a SV6 from another person who was moved to sat/cs, because that person was fedup of glitching and channels going down etc etc. anyways, my friend paid £10 for the box, and its working...LOL

    Thanks again guys.

you see it does make sense to research and look around and a tenner got a good bargain there.

If you are looking for a cheap sat box then I dont think there is one cheaper than the Openbox S10, HD/PVR cost just under 70 euro delivered to Ireland, the HD picture is excellent and it is the easiest box I have ever set up.

Do you mean the Orton MICKAH? They are very similar but they take different software, I have an Openbox S10 and for the money I really can not fault it.
