i was wondering is there a way to tamper with my cable modem so that i can get higher speed out of it . And do you guy know where i can get cable modem that support 10mbs speed.
the speed is set at your provider's servers not the cable modem. tamper with the modem could cost you net access & money.
You would need to get an upgrade on your service in order to increase you speed all-around. If one of your main issues is with surfing there was a tutorial listed in the site about increasing the speed of Fire Fox for explorering the net. from geestar20: How to speed up FireFox page loading http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/177587 If you're more concerned with downloading speeds: Make sure you have ports opened for programs you want to use for a better connection and transfer/download speeds This site may help you figure out what ports are need: http://www.portforward.com/cports.htm Find what you're using on the list and open the port or port range listed for the correspondign program If you have a router, this tutorial will help you to open the ports and forward them to your router: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/223583 I hope some of that helps you to get the maximum use out of your connection as it is right now.
ok, none of your suggestions worked .maybe there's some sort of way to maximize my bandwidth, u see my internet speed is 200or 400kbs a second but it only goes at 50-60 max is there a way to fix this.
