Hi, I just purchased a new digital camcorder. It's a Sony DCR-HC40. I have a problem, I tried to connect it to my PC using USB port and USB cable but nothing happens. I need to see my videos and my pc. Do I need any to install any software in my pc, somebody told me about picture package, Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!
To use your camcorder via usb you need to install its usb drivers (included in its cd). With usb you can use it as web cam or download pictures stored in its memory card to your pc. If your pc has a firewire port you can connect to your dv via a high bandwidth and fast connection which you can capture recorded video to your pc by this way, ofcourse using some software, like windows movie maker or smth. better... ps:no driver is needed for firewire connection
LOL Sony Boss is making fun of you for having purchased this peice of crap do not buy Sony! it is soooo poor
I purchased a Panasonic PV-GS12 and of course it did not come with any software, but I did go to their web site and download the USB Driver. Can't seem to capture playback video from Tape. Picks up audio not video. Do I need firewire in order to transfer the video? HP a500n 2.8 GH AMD, Nvidia 5600 Gforce 256M
