can burn dvdrw not dvdr?why

    aopen dvrw2412pro burner,windows me,amd xp 2200
    using dvdxcopy xpress i can copy onto dvd+rw but not onto dvd+r.have tried 3 different media types--unbranded,datawrite and hp all of dvd+r type.the burner supports r and rw.managed to successfully burn onto dvd+rw memorex.when analysed in nero media checker the 3 media types are rcognised as dvd+r but0mb available and 0mb used.also if i click on the dvd icon with the dvd+r disc in it says "please insert a disc" and doesn't see/recognise the dvd+r disc.is it the media buti've tied x3.is it the burner ,how do i prove it,is it something really dim

    it could not be compatible with your burner.
    some can only burn with -R or +R and not both
    latest burners are R-/+R combo

    media would not be the problem in your case.

    What version Xpress are you using? Latest version is 3.2.1. I had problems with version 3.0. 2.5 worked ok too. If you have ver 3.0, go to 321studios.com and download 3.2.1 Jerry
