I have no idea what it is being called now but I have BVRP Mobile Phone Tools version 3.28. We also have a Motorola E815...and Verizon service.

All seems to be working, but my wife just backed up her phone and brought it to Verizon for the 01.1E.00 update. When she got it home, she did a restore and her phonebook was there OK again.

EXCEPT...her catagories are gone! She had 7 of them and they are now gone and replaced by the 4 default catagories. We looked at the contacts.csv file and the Catagories are correct as she had them. So, when she does a restore, are the catagories from the contacts.csv file supposed to restore? Does she have a restore setting incorrect? Will Pluto ever grow up to be a real Planet?

OH, we use Windows XP PRO SP2 and do NOT use "lookout" I mean Outlook!

yeah, the same thing happen to me :(

so after googling alot, and didnt find any clue
i did some experiment my self,

after i backup my contacts and calender (restoring calender seem to be fine) the MPT will create backup file in
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\BVRP Software\Motorola Phone Tools\Backup\<name of backups>
the contacts goes to contacts.csv (im sure you already know about this, just confirming :p), and then use this file to be restored with P2ktool v0.8.6 by bezol(find it somewhere or google it),
connect your handphone and start the p2ktools, make sure the mode you are using is AT(default is p2k mode). the interface is self explanatory, but when you tried to directly use the contacts.csv file the p2ktool would give you an error
i workaround it by editing the contacts.csv file, open it with excel or something simillar, and just delete column N (the cells with VERSION2 text in it), save it and restore it with p2ktools

it works for me :) and i hope it would for you

nb: sory for my poor english
