Hello......I was wondering if I could burn an XVID MPEG Layer-3 video file to a DVD for playback on my home DVD player and Standard Def TV. The file will fit it is only 300 Mb. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

heres an application that should be able to convert your xvid to mpeg2.Once converted it will be abled to be seen by your burning application as been in the right format and you should be able to get it to disc and play in a standalone dvd player.

    What media are you using?
what burning application do you currently have installed?

The media I'm using is Ridata DVD-R and the software is Nero 5. Is there something better that you would reccomend?
    Thanks for the quick response.

that actual program will allow you to batch encode a few avi's to mpeg2 in a hit or you can create one then another etc.You can add as many as you have space on your disc.Be aware that you might only consider filling the disc to 4300 gig as anything past this point is where the dye of the disc(outer edge) is the most uneven and wether a lot of failed burns and errors occur
